Stephanie began her professional life working in the financial sector. After finishing college in 1997, she got a job selling hedge funds at Credit Suisse, where she stayed for the next six years. She was a vice president at the bank, and her hard work earned her recognition as the top seller of credit derivatives in the whole country. Ruhle left Credit Suisse in 2003 and went to work for Deutsche Bank as a credit seller specialising in hedge funds. This was six years after he departed the company. While working there, she was able to work her way up to the position of managing director in the Senior Relationship Management division of the Global Markets division. 

For eight years, Ruhle worked as a teller at a local bank.
