Martino was born to writer/journalist father Manuel Rivas and homemaker mother Maria Isabel Lopez Marino in Vimianzo. While in high school in London, England, he took a theatre class and developed a passion for performing, which led to his first acting gigs. He then moved back to Spain after high school and attended the University of Santiago de Compostela in Galicia, where he earned his bachelor’s degree in 2007.
